Cupcakes and Pupcakes

The Outset Cornwall programme has helped us to focus on what we need to do to establish a well run and successful business. It was invaluable for us to meet like-minded women and use them as a focus group as the business idea developed.

Sharyn and Pauline’s story

“I was completely uninspired by the range of dog treats on offer, most containing cow-hide which has no nutritional value whatsoever!” says Pauline. “Sharyn loves to make cakes and was hoping to start a business making and selling them, so we had the idea to come together and create something truly unique.”

Having met at the Outset Cornwall St Austell women-only group earlier this year after hearing about the programme on the radio, both women wanted to come along to meet like-minded women to share their ideas with, and work towards launching their new respective businesses. They didn’t bargain on meeting a new business partner and starting such a unique and fun business.

“The Outset Cornwall programme has helped us to focus on what we need to do to establish a well run and successful business. It was invaluable for us to meet like-minded women and use them as a focus group as the business idea developed,” remarks Sharyn.

Both Sharyn and Pauline are outgoing, confident women who pride themselves on achieving what they set out to do and are good at getting their points across. A top-class sales team for the Cupcakes and Pupcakes brand! The next step for Pauline and Sharyn is to grow and develop the business. “Expansion!” says Sharyn. “We would like to see our products in supermarkets, and be recognised as a leader in quality animal treats.”
